The ANU Chamber Choir is an integral part of the ANU School of Music and includes voice and instrumental students as well as other musicians from the ANU community. For the past five years, countertenor Tobias Cole has directed the choir with a focus on togetherness, expression, joy and spontaneity.
Recent performances include Messiah with Canberra Symphony Orchestra, Bach’s motet Jesu, meine Freude at Wesley Uniting Church, Sublime Voices with Luminescence Chamber Singers, the ANU’s 75th birthday celebrations, and an ABC live television broadcast with Marcia Hines in the Australian of the Year Awards in January. In October this year they will perform in the premiere of Prisoner Of War Requiem in Llewellyn Hall.
The program at the Wednesday lunchtime concert will include classic a cappella works including Christus factus est by Anton Bruckner and The blue bird by Charles Villiers Stanford, a new work by ANU composition student Rebecca Hilliard and an improvisation of which we invite the audience to be part
