Music advocacy is often talked about in theoretical terms at events like this but what does it mean to out work the ideas behind music advocacy in a school environment. This elective will look at practical ways to gain support for your music program and will discuss the following areas.
- Who is your audience?
- How do you work more effectively with colleagues?
- What are some of the tools you could look at employing to transform your department? There will be a special emphasis on Music Everyday as a concept to transform your teaching and your department which will run similar to past presentations but I have changed the focus to be on Music Advocacy and this as a tool.
The reason for doing this is I fully believe in the benefits of Music Everyday and sharing them but I want to do it through the lense of Music Advocacy… because that is what music everyday essentially is.
