Jai Schelbach currently is the primary school music teacher at Saint Stephen’s College located on the Gold Coast where he teaches students from Prep through to Grade 5. On top of teaching classroom music, he enjoys teaching choirs, string groups, composing, arranging and collaborating with his colleagues to do big events such as Primary Musicals, Grandparents Day, Easter Hat Parade, Christmas Concerts and many more. In 2005, Jai completed his degree in Bachelor Music/Bachelor Education from UNSW. The following year he attended the Kodaly National Conference with his fellow colleagues to discover a “new” and practical way of giving students the tools they needed to be competent musicians. Having only come across this method as a post-graduate he has then spent the next 15 years honing and developing his understanding of the Kodaly Method in the classroom.
