The Conservatorium High School is a public specialist music high school in Sydney NSW, with a student population of around 160. In addition to standard academic subjects, all students receive private tuition on their chosen instrument and participate in a variety of ensembles. Singing forms the core of the Kodály-inspired classroom programs at the school, and all students participate in the Whole-School choir once a week. The choir forms a foundation of the student’s musical education with performances of music from 12th Century chant all through to contemporary compositions. Many of the students come into the school with very little singing background and the school is very proud of its students’ achievements in this ensemble. The evening’s performance will be given by a selection of 36 non-auditioned students taken from the whole-school choir and will feature guest conductor, Dr. Árpád Tóth who has been working with the whole-school choir over the past two weeks
