Barbara McGeever is a freelance primary music and general classroom teacher, and an Australasian mentor to handbell/handchime directors. She is a former director of both vocal and handchime/handbell choirs and has enriched her teaching using Kodály methodology for 50 years. Barbara has conducted at International Handbell Symposia (2014 and 2018), and has facilitated national and international workshops on the value of handchimes in the classroom. She was the Youth Strand Convenor of the 2006 and 2018 International Handbell Symposia. Barbara is a Board member of the Handbell Society of Australasia (HSA) and Convenor of the HSA Music Education and Training Sub-Committee. Most importantly, Barbara’s passion is building community both through the singing voice and handchimes/handbells.
