Oliver Doyle is a dedicated music educator with broad interests in brass pedagogy, classroom teaching, composition, and conducting. He performs as Principal Trumpet with the Newcastle Wind Orchestra, the Newcastle Youth Orchestra, the Avondale Symphony Orchestra, and the Institute of Worship Orchestra. Oliver enjoys playing lead trumpet with the Avondale Jazz Ensemble, works with Felix Quinn Music playing functions and weddings in the Hunter and Sydney regions, and has played in pit orchestras for musical theatre. Oliver attained his A. Mus. A. (Trumpet) in 2018, and graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts (Music) / Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary) (with Distinction) from Avondale University College where he has won prizes and awards for Academic Excellence, Harmony and Composition, and Outstanding Musical Contribution. He is a recipient of the Duncan-Kranz scholarship for his work with Avondale’s flagship vocal ensemble, The Promise, where he held the position of Senior Member, and has arranged for this ensemble multiple times, leading to commissioned works.
